Richard Boyatzis, PhD, Dan Goleman, Udayan Dhar, and Kalu Osiri, Thrive and Survive: Assessing Personal Sustainability reports three validation studies of the Personal Sustainability Index. The PSI is a measure of typical stress and renewal experiences during a “normal” week. The test is in the Appendix. The second is a study of the impact of the Ideal Self (one’s personal vision) on the effectiveness of Latin American middle-level managers, by Hector Martinez, Kylie Rockford, Sofia Rodrigues-Chaves and myself. The third study is on the role of EI in resilience and renewal. It is an integration of the literature from these three topics, by Han Liu and Boyatzis.
